Parking overnight in the Headlands is not necessarily encouraged, but scores of cars are parked there every night. They are mostly the cars of people who are staying overnight. Many people live in the Headlands. Others spend the night at the Headlands Institute or the Hostel. If you park your car at one of those places, it will have company. No permits are required.
