Oceanside to La Jolla Restaurant recommendations, please

The title says it all ~ my husband and I will be hiking the Oceanside to La Jolla section starting Wed, May 31st, and would appreciate any restaurant recommendations other hikers may have.Thanks:)Continue

Oceanside to La Jolla

My husband, Tim, and I started our Oceanside to La Jolla walkabout Wednesday morning, May 31, 2017.

June gloom was in full swing and temperatures were very comfortable for hiking.

We stayed the 1st night in South Carlsbad at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carlsbad Beach not far from the beach. Paid $151.09 through booking.com. We ate lunch at Harbor Fish Cafe right by the beach. It was good but not GF friendly. Even the french fries have a coating that is not GF. We paid…

from Pacific Beach to Shelter Island Yacht Basin

Great place to swim would be Ocean Beach before you leave the coast to go inland. We had a great time, great waves:) We did exit this area where the book says and then you end up along come cliffs overlooking the ocean. We didn't exit that area where the book says, we continued along the Sunset Cliffs Blvd to enjoy the overlooks and then navigated our way inland to our hotel. Lots of available eateries at OB. The hike

tim and i are doing what the book says is the last leg of the 200 mile Southern California coastline, La Jolla to Mexico border. We hiked La Jolla to Pacific Beach today and we're staying our first night in a Hostel that fronts the beach. Of course, we're the oldest people here. Lots of Europeans and all young. We ate at a Thai restaurant we've eaten at before...yummy...and you can bip across the street to buy beer or wine to bring back and enjoy with dinner. Lunch, where the author recommended… Continue

Airport to LA Jolla

Save big bucks, take the bus, 993, from the airport.  Only 1 bus exchange gets you to LA Jolla to begin one of the sections. Only $5 total if you're under 60.
