We have our room reservations and have checked the tide tables. Hopefully we are in shape and have our gear appropriately paired down, because we leave later this week to do most of the entire hike. My husband, Tim, and I started our Oceanside to La Jolla walkabout Wednesday morning, May 31, 2017.

June gloom was in full swing and temperatures were very comfortable for hiking.

We stayed the 1st night in South Carlsbad at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carlsbad Beach not far from the beach. Paid $151.09 through booking.com. We ate lunch at Harbor Fish Cafe right by the beach. It was good but not GF friendly. Even the french fries have a coating that is not GF. We paid…
