Walkabout Malibu to Mexico

We completed the entire walk during three weeks in July with the exception of Catalina (we took a Lyft from San Pedro to Long Beach) and the San Clemente to Oceanside portion (we took the Amtrak train). It was great fun and the weather was excellent. I would emphasize paying attention to Tom's tide recommendations. We did and were able to do huge portions of the walk barefoot in the water and on the wet sand. The warm water temps in July also allowed us to take Ocean swims most days.

Walkabout Malibu to Mexico

We have our room reservations and have checked the tide tables. Hopefully we are in shape and have our gear appropriately paired down, because we leave later this week to do most of the entire hike. We are skipping Catalina, because we have been there many times and will take a Lyft instead from San Pedro to the Queen Mary where we booked a room for the night. We also will likely skip the Camp Pendleton part and take the train from San Clemente to Oceanside, because it seems likely we will…
