Hello
I'm planning on doing a few of the Southern California walks this spring (Santa Monica to Santa Catalina, Oceanside to La Jolla). We will also be in the San Diego area so were hoping to do part of the La Jolla to Mexico walk but only have 3 days. Given the other walks we are doing, any advice on how to shorten the La Jolla to Mexico walk from 5 to 3 days? Which days should we eliminate if we have to?
Thanks
Stephanie

Stephanie,
You have chosen some wonderful walkabouts for your spring adventure. The La Jolla to Mexico Walkabout is spectacular. If you are limited to three days, I suggest Days 1, 2, and 4. You will enjoy a great variety of coastline- rugged and secluded, tranquil swimming beaches, and some fun popular beaches. There are also fun coastal villages along the way. Once you get to Imperial Beach, you may have energy to stroll another 1.5 miles to the Tijuana River. The Tijuana Slough National Wildlife Refuge should be teeming with migrating shore birds, especially at the mouth of the river. The river will probably be flowing too fast in the spring to be able to wade across to walk the remaining short distance to the border.
Please let the Walkabout California Community know how it went with another post to the Forum.
Happy hiking,

Thanks Tom! That is great advice.
