Hello--Has anyone had experience in sending belongings ahead to the last hotel to pick up at the end of the trip? Also, what about transportation from our end point to where we left our car if we are in a rather isolated spot? We two are thinking of hiking inn to inn in CA.

Hi Sue. If your hike isn't in an area that is too remote, you can always use the website or app Rome2Rio to find the best transportation options in between areas/cities (both public and private options). The best site to use within a city is Moovit.com or the Moovit app.
Sue,
People have been sending their luggage ahead to the next inn by taxi, Uber, or Lyft. This seems to work pretty well on the coastal routes. It may be more difficult in the mountains. You can check with your innkeeper and get their advice. Check out the Transportation section at the end of each chapter for phone numbers of taxi services. That is where you can also find information on how to return to your starting place once you have finished your walkabout. There is usually good public transportation options.
Happy Hiking
