This is a truly spectacular hike along the Pacific Crest Trail. It is challenging because you are hiking at 7,000-8,000 with some elevation gain and loss. The first two of the three days are both around 13 miles. There are two long descents on the first day of 1,100 and 1,900 feet. The real challenge is the second day. It starts with a 1,900 foot climb out of Squaw Valley. Unfortunately, they have closed the ski lift for the season, and you will need to hike. But it is worth the effort - hiking the High Sierra.
Good luck. If you get a chance, please drop a post on WalkaboutCalifornia.com and let us know how the hike went.
